Phu Ninh Lake is located in Tam Dai Commune, Phu Ninh District, Quang Nam Province. It is one of Vietnam’s nationally recognized scenic sites, covering a total area of over 23,000 hectares and comprising more than 30 islands, often referred to as a “miniature Ha Long Bay.” These islands host diverse ecosystems of flora and fauna, with several islands being habitats for species listed in the Red Data Book.

According to historical records, the Phu Ninh mineral spring, located beneath the lake, was discovered in 1928, when scientists and experts began researching natural resources in Central Vietnam. However, the mineral source did not receive much attention at that time.

In 1978, the Ministry of Health conducted scientific studies to assess the potential of the Phu Ninh mineral water source. Research results indicated that the water contains a rich composition of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate, sodium, and other trace elements, making it suitable for daily mineral supplementation and various therapeutic purposes.

By 1992, after multiple successful trials, Phu Ninh mineral water was officially extracted and bottled for market distribution. In 2013, Hung Cuong Tourism Investment Joint Stock Company was granted the license to exploit the Phu Ninh mineral water source for bottled mineral water production, supplying consumers both within and beyond the province with high-quality drinking water enriched with essential minerals.

Since the project began operations, in addition to contributing to local economic and tourism development and creating stable employment for local residents, the Phu Ninh Mineral Water brand has become a source of pride for Quang Nam Province. More than just a daily consumer product, Phu Ninh Mineral Water carries meaningful health values for its users.

For the mineral water source currently under exploitation, the company has established and implemented effective mineral resource protection and management plans, including:

• Developing sustainable mineral water extraction procedures in full compliance with legal regulations;
• Building a monitoring database to track the dynamics of the mineral water source, serving as a basis for periodic assessment of its stability;
• Conducting annual evaluations of extraction quality.

The company also develops environmental rehabilitation and restoration plans suited to actual mining conditions. Water resources are used efficiently throughout production and processing activities, such as:

• Utilizing a closed pipeline system over 3,800 meters to transport mineral water to the factory, ensuring source integrity and hygienic safety throughout the process;
• Applying modern, advanced production lines to optimize water usage at every stage of product manufacturing.

Regarding wastewater generated from factory operations, the company has implemented effective treatment systems, including:

• Constructing treatment facilities for both domestic and industrial wastewater in compliance with environmental regulations;
• Regular operation, maintenance, monitoring, and periodic wastewater quality assessment.

In addition, minimizing plastic waste is always a priority. The company actively implements collection and recycling solutions, including:

• Continuous improvement in production processes to minimize defective products;
• Researching new packaging solutions that meet production requirements while gradually replacing conventional plastic packaging;
• Sorting and collecting solid waste—mainly damaged bottles and containers—which are periodically collected by licensed recycling units.
